Luke Deasy founded Copper Coast Renewables in 2023. He has over ten years of experience in HV & Renewables, Mining, Oil & Gas, Commercial, and Industrial environments. Deasy is an award-winning engineer. He aims to help businesses achieve Net Zero using innovative renewable energy technologies.

He worked with companies like Kirby Group in Ireland, the UK, and Europe, John Paul Construction in Ireland, and Sepam in Kazakhstan. He also worked with Kentz in Mozambique. Most recently, he was Operations Director for a large renewable energy company in Ireland’s South East.

Luke has completed over 12MWp of ground-mounted solar. He has also done 40MWp of roof-mounted solar, 8MWp of grid-connected solar, and over 1MW of heat pumps. He has extensive experience in HV grid connections and substations. This, combined with his renewable energy expertise, makes him a leading expert in cutting carbon and saving energy.

He has an Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Higher Diploma in Project Management. He has CEng status with the IEI (Ireland) and IET (UK), EUR ING status with FEANI for Europe. He recently became a Chartered Energy Engineer with the Energy Institute. His company is also listed as an accredited Energy Auditor with the SEAI.

In 2021/2022, Luke oversaw Ireland’s biggest Heat Pump (580kW) and Solar (775kW) installation. It was at Tricel in Killarney.

At the 2022 Irish Early Career Awards, Luke was named Engineer of the Year. He was also named the Overall Young Professional of the Year.

Cormac Bradley is a Construction Manager at RPS Group. He praised Luke for his ability to drive change, innovate, and lead successful projects. He highlighted Luke’s transformative impact on his company.

Luke has won many awards. For example, he was named Future ESG Leader at the 2023 Business and Finance Awards. He also won a 2023 Sustainability Award of Excellence from e2media UK. Plus, he was listed on the 40 under 40 Sustainability Stars with Corpstage and the Global Sustainability Leadership Council in the USA. He also played a key role in Copper Coast Renewables receiving a Business All Star Award. The award came in its first year from AIBF.
