Position Overview

The Site Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of solar PV construction sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and to quality standards. The role involves coordinating subcontractors, liaising with clients, and reporting progress to the Project Manager while ensuring compliance with Irish regulations and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Site Management
Manage daily operations on solar PV construction sites.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, installers, and suppliers.
Ensure work is completed according to design drawings, technical specifications, and project schedules.
Monitor site productivity and resolve operational issues.

Health & Safety
Enforce site health & safety standards in accordance with Irish regulations.
Conduct toolbox talks, site inspections, and risk assessments.
Ensure subcontractors follow method statements and safety procedures.

Client & Stakeholder Communication
Attend site meetings and progress reviews.
Address client queries and ensure customer satisfaction.

Project Co-ordination
Work closely with the Project Manager and engineering team.
Provide regular site reports, progress updates, and issue tracking.
Ensure materials, equipment, and resources are available when needed.

Quality Control
Ensure installations meet quality standards and design specifications.
Oversee testing, commissioning, and documentation.
Identify and resolve technical or construction issues.

Reporting
Submit daily / weekly site reports to the Project Manager.
Track progress against schedule and milestones.
Report risks, delays, and required corrective actions.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Experience
3–5+ years experience in construction site management (solar, electrical, or infrastructure preferred).
Experience managing multiple subcontractors and site teams.
Experience delivering projects within schedule and budget.

Qualifications
Degree / diploma  / Trade Qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical or Civils discipline (preferred).
Additional job-based training or tickets an advantage.
Safe Pass certification (required in Ireland).
Manual Handling certification.
First Aid certification (desirable).

Skills
Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
Strong leadership and subcontractor management skills.
Good understanding of solar PV systems and electrical installations.
Excellent communication and client management skills.
Ability to read technical drawings and project schedules.
